Not looking too good. I would say the best bet for GOP is Romney just because he's the "Good ole' American Boy" type of guy. As far as anything relevant is concerned, I don't see any possibility Obama gets the axe. Thoughts?

Romney might win by attrition if the economy doesnt get any better.RonPaul has a great domestic plan but sucks on foreign policy, Santorum doesnt have much business sense, and might not have enough campain funds to even finish the primary.

I dont really like any of the candidates, because I think they all suck. However, if I were going with the "lesser evil", I'd go with Ron Paul.

Thanks for the comments everyone. To be honest I'm feeling a bit cynical at the moment. I feel as if it doesn't particularly matter who gets elected at all. It seems like our political system is at a complete stand still with the divisional tendencies of congress. If I could see one major change in the country's political persona it would be to see a major reshuffling of representatives and senators. The ones in office now are simply too hard headed and seemingly incapable of any sort of cooperative action

    It won't matter. It's a big show.

Currently, the majority of our elected public officials are wealthy. And oddly enough, you need a lot of money to run for office in the first place.

When you DO decide to run, everyone seems to help you by making "donations" (This has been expanded to include corporations, who can now donate undisclosed amounts of money to certain candidates anomalously.) If that sounds like "bribery", that's because it is...

Once you get elected, you're put in contact with lobbyists. These are the hired hands of the gigantic companies that actually run this country. they make more "donations" to keep you in office, and in exchange, you keep the rules favoring them.

After a few years, you're in pretty deep debt to dozens of these jackals, but you're also very rich.

Now, ask yourself: Why would anyone who has a job based on their popularity EVER say anything that the people won't like? (Even if it's the truth!) Why would these people create, or enforce laws that would take money out of their pockets, and spread it amongst the peasants?

Your "news" comes from one of 5 multi-billion dollar corporations, that ALL have investments and agendas of their own. Why would they tell you the truth about anything that could effect their money?

Our money is controlled by the Federal Reserve (An international collection of bankers who have NO ALLEGIANCE to the U.S. Government) They are getting extremely wealthy, while choking out social security, depleting savings/APR rates, raising inflation, printing our currency with interest, and by feeding you all the credit card debt you can handle. Why in the hell would they want to change the rules to benefit you?

We're in trillions of dollars in debt, no end in sight for the several conflicts we're involved in (But several more might be starting), our education system is in shambles, our prisons are packed, our health care system is out of control, corporations now have more rights than you do, pensions are a thing of the past, and you are being forced to donate 20+% of your money to a government that mishandles it, routinely loses it, and openly hands it to thieves.

And you think "Who we elect as President" matters one single bit?
Or congress? Or our Justices, senators, governors, or anyone else?

Quite simply: It's the rich versus everyone else. And they are winning soundly. Hopefully in between TV shows, and eating crap you call food, you'll look around and realize that you live in a well decorated prison. You are chained to that place you work at. Odds are, you will die poor.

And the only way ANYTHING will ever change is if we take this country back by force. But my honest opinion... We're sleeping very soundly, and it's going to take something VERY big to wake us up.

Our country is so screwed up at this time it is on the verge of a revolution. Our so called current President has tried to divide our country in every way he can. Most great Presidents have always tried to unite our people with a common goal of helping each other. Now all we do is point fingers at the other guy and say this is his fault and he says it your fault. We need someone to stand up and say we live in the greatest Nation in the world and be proud to say it and mean it. They are selling our country down the pike, borrowing money to bail out unions so corrupt they have stolen all the money from the people who contributed to it, banks that have pissed away your money in the stock market trying to hit a falling knife. We have been in more wars in the past three years than in the last 20 years, we helped over throw Egypt, Yemen, Libiya, Pakistan still fighting in Iraq and Afganistan these will all be under Muslim control which as far as they are concerned we are the enemy. I can't under any circumstances vote for this President again he has tried to destroy our country from within, he has no respect for the American way of life he is trying to turn us into a socialist state in which case we will all be broke, they have us already so far in debt there are people talking about them closing all the banks for the purpose of taking every ones money out of every account to use supposidly to pay the national debt but then we will all be on the same level then, fucked and waiting in line to get toilet paper and food we no longer will be free to own and operate our own businesses we will all be employed by a bankrupt nation. I hope all of you go out and vote to remove Obama from office this guy is not who we want running our country for the next four years or we will be lost forever.

I would be happier with a guy that has been in business and actually had the experience of running a state, than a guy who was a half term senator that voted present instead of yea or nay 50% of the time he was there. At the time Romney was Gov he had a legislature of mostly Dems in control so he had to compromise on a lot of issues. He was able to turn there debt into a plus in 2 yrs but raised fees to do it.

I would be happier with some poor schlep than some multi- millionaire. It's a shame that in this country you can't have a regular ol' guy for president. It's like Agaru said,it's the rich versus the rest of us.

I'm waiting for the next election, I like Rubio, his parents were imigrants he worked his way through college, has a common sense approach to things, but you're probably right DBC, he wont stand a chance!

I still would rather have a guy that was successful at business and able to run a state than a guy who has never had a job other than a figure head for a lot of projects, Rubio would be a great choice to bad he is not running. Being successful should be a plus not a negative. I just keep asking my self am I better off now than 3 1/2 yrs ago and I am making 1/3 the money I was then, almost lost my business for the policies of this administration ended up having to re-fiance my business to keep it. I just don't like the idea that dividing our country into class warfare either I grew up poorer than most and was able to be owning and running the company I now have. I started in the lowest position in my place and ended up owning the place after being there for 20 years. The way Obama wants it that could never happen he wants everyone to be poor you can't take money from one person and give it to another unless you take everyones money and start from scratch.

Perhaps with Romney one could find out the policy of moving an earned business to CHINA and save on the tax policy of the U.S.A. and delete the American worker. Seriously isn't it time to get rid of the lawyers in D.C. and find a serious middle income working man or woman for all government positions and watch them become as crooked as what we have know. What we have here is the evil of two lessers. Darned if you do Darned if you don't. So which will DAMN you the best. Delete the parties and everyone run on their own merit and money not everyone elses money and hard work. I can say that I am better off but no thanks to any politicians. Now if only the mice would stop eating my retirement stash in my box springs I might get ahead (LOL) Does anyone think the government is going to seriously keep their word after all the still are breaking treaties with the true people of this land. Perhaps we will be better off is the Aztec people are right hurry up December 21st.
