    Dear Terrorists,

While many Americans do not share my beliefs on some of these issues, I think I understand (And sympathize) your dilemma. And I think we can help each other out.
I don't know if you guys get cable, or the internet in your cave networks overseas, but the news here is getting pretty fucked up.

After one of your guys tried to blow up a plane over Detroit, our media is telling us stricter methods are needed at security. (Even though the methods we currently have are already in violation of OUR civil liberties, and if the dumb-asses at the terminals were simply doing their job, he would have gotten caught.) This is unnecessary, costly, and neither we, nor you are making any progress.
    So I have a suggestion.
Get a list of all the major CEO's of the corporations that are making BILLIONS off of this war: Defense contractors, Petroleum execs, etc... And blow them the fuck up. You'd only need to kill a few family's consisting of over-privileged, ridiculously wealthy, egotistical, self-centered shit bags. (Trust me, most of us working-class folk don't like them either.) They will be easy to find via off-shore accounts, massive mansions, private helicopters/jets, etc...
After a few dozen of these douche-bags get EXACTLY what they deserve for spilling blood in BOTH our countries for profit, maybe they will pull off your soil, and force them to spend some money on renewable energy sources.

Because seriously, they are considering full-body X-rays, and mind-reading technology. I can't make this shit up.

So remember, the average American citizen hates these privileged "Upper 1%ers" as much as you do, and I for one would like to see them some "Collateral damage" for once.

    -Your pal,
    Tommy

PS: A recent poll taken on MSN showed that 74% of Americans feel that "X-ray machines that can see through clothing" are an acceptable measure to take for safety.

This is proof that 3/4 of Americans have never read (OR heard about) the Orwellian world crafted in "1985".
He was only off by 25 years.

1985? I don't think so. Sorry Tommy you must be one of them too. It's 1984.

Cross post. Someone estimated a greater than 1 in 10,000,000 chance of being killed by a terrorist but significantly shorter odds of dying of x-ray caused cancer if you are a frequent flyer.

I'm not sure if a poll on MSN qualifies as proof Tommy.

I wasn't saying it was proof of anything, I just found it funny that 74% of ANY demographic is that short-sighted.

No the taliban wer not funded or armed by the US.

During the Russian move to take over the region the US supported the mujahedin freedom fighters with training, use of weapons. I am sure some money went to them- but we did not export arms to them. Taliban were one of the tribal war groups that have been in the area for years-

After Russia pulled out- we left the poeple high and dry, with a country that was devastated- Carpet bombings, cities wiped out, mine feilds as far as the eye could see- and new psy-weapons the Russians deployed explosives shaped like childrens toys- The Soviet PFM-1 is so small they can' be seen. The US's number one export to afganistan after the russian withdrawl- prosthetic limbs... not food medicine, housing, land mine removal teams.

You want to know who made the so called "terror groups" WE DID... nothing will make you want a little payback than seeing you kids leg blown off- and now those kids are in their 40's

Sadly that is the US's hitory with foriegn involvement- I was in the 1991 gulf war- we had saddam against the ropes- 14 out of 16 povidences in open rebellion, did we help the people up north? NO after we left the Kurdistan people were left to their fate- our "no fly zone" was a public relations move- they didn't fly in to slaugter thousands they drove- The ranks of the "terrorists" swelled with the survivors of this- We have only ourselves to blame for these people hating us.

Sorta: In the 80's (During the Cold War) the United States and Russia seemed to be on a collision course, and a full scale war seemed inevitable. The problem was, Russia was a bit better armed... (We had more nukes, but both sides knew damn well NOBODY was gonna use them). The only thing Russia needed was oil to fuel it's machines... So it decided to get it's foothold in the middle-east via Afghanistan. We knew how bad it would be for us, if they occupied that region so we sent CIA and Special Forces ops (Secretly) to teach Al-Queda how to fight a numerically, & technologically superior force. At that time, Osama Bin Laden was a GOOD GUY, and the Russians were the enemy. Then, after several disastrous years in Afghanistan (It's frequently referred to as Russia's "Vietnam"), and building a HUGE arsenal designed for a US war, President Regan, on national TV asked for peace. Russia's economy collapsed. We became the only remaining super-power.

Go watch Rambo 3. It's hysterical.

so the were drilled how to fight a war with a nation just like the u.s.s.a and now they are.

just like the respons teams were drilled incase of a disastor at the wtc

just like the russians were drilled if there were bombs set of in the subway.

Not one-uping Tommy, I was in the special ops, our mission history was required. I won't get into to many specifics- but the group know today as Al-Queda was originally al-Qa'ida. Wasn't formed until around 1988. They have always been an anti- west/ christian/jewish fundamentalist Sunni group.
Bin Laden was a member of the mujahideen, Mawlawi Mohammad Yunus Khalis being the real good guy- Bin Laden was a fighter, what got his panties in a twist was the US entering Saudi in the 1991 gulf war. (thank Dick Chaney for that one)
Mujahideen commanders Abdul Haq, Amin Wardak and Jalaluddin Haqqani were affiliated with Khalis's party, Hezb-e-Islami. They are listed as a "group of concern" by the state dept.

Yeah that's a very good point. I wonder why the cultivation of Al Queda by the US is not a source of speculation today. The main threat to the Taliban was the Northern Alliance and they had a good chance of defeating them until their leader, Massoud, was assassinated by a Taliban bomb hidden in a movie camera. The Northern Alliance was supported by the USA military and Special Forces. The Northern Alliance did take Kabul until the US occupied.

I'm not sure if it was just to secure oil for the Russians that Afghanistan was occupied though. Did not they see it as a way of reducing their own terrorist threat via the Chechens and Kazaks? I don't think we'll ever know.

I think the silence is a form of agreement... I think that's a bit simplistic, but shows the root of the real problem: We have more to fear from our government then we ever will from the terrorists.
