Shoulder Ink (bra strap concerns)
-
I am saving for my next ink, and decided it would look nicest on the shoulder blade. Its kind of an Alice in Wonderland theme (a pocket watch and playing cards) and will be mostly grey shaded, I have not decided about color if I do it will only be a bit of red on the cards. But I have a rather large chest so I cannot go braless. Are there any suggestions on how to deal with the bra strap? I don't want it to rub the scabs off and my ink ending up being blotched.

I have dated some women who wore strapless bras, maybe that could work for you?
-
I have large D cups and I found strapless bras really are not very supportive. I suppose it would just be a few days til it gets a nice good scab. I have one other ink that healed pretty quickly. And it did not itch thankfully. It was also done in winter time and my skin was dry but it didn't make it itchy. Perhaps I should plan on waiting until Christmas Break if I get the job as a associate teacher, then it can heal up for a week before I HAVE to wear a bra again.

When I first had my back piece done, I found it impossible to sleep on my back. The few times I happened to roll over in my sleep, I woke up with a shirt stuck to my tattoo and had to get in the shower with the shirt on, so it would release and not mess up my ink, so I understand about worrying about messing up your ink! lol My chest piece wasn't so bad, but the tail of the dragon did scab up pretty bad, I'm thankful it healed beautifully though.
Hope you find a solution! Your idea for the Alice in Wonderland tattoo, sounds awesome.

I found saran wrap or cling wrap to be very affective,
-
Did you just put it on your shoulder while wearing something that would rub, does it stay on without needing to be fixed every hour or so? I would be concerned that if I sweat and it really clings it could pull up a scab. Was that a problem?

i would wear a bra without lace and one that's super soft inside. Victoria Secret makes some called ipex. or perhaps a sports bra??
-
A sports bra I think would be too tight, and I cannot really wear it under my work clothes :(

I am changing the time to 5 because that is what it is in the movie, and then not having the details on the cover done. I will just have it shaded. And was thinking of adding just a bit of red shading to the cards, just as an accent. The whole thing is a reminder to slow down and not run run run always late for something without seeing what is around me. And not to gamble my time away on love and fortune... I cannot really think of a better place than my shoulder blade...

No you use medical tape or what ever you use, and it should be fint i used to wash dishes in a restaurant and using saran wrap helped alot, your tattoos shouldnt scab if applied right although it does happen, saran wrap acts like a scab and keeps moisture in the tattoo you just gotta let it breath every hour. I used it when my "ditch" scabbed up and helped my shirt from rubbing on it, its the area where the arm bends on the other side of the elbow try it if ya want just dont forget to let it breath
-
Thank you for the help. Should be interesting trying to wrap up my own shoulder blade lol. But I won't be sweating too much I hope, and I can maybe survive it for work then come home and strip down.
-
I like strippers if you wait around im sure more people will have different ideas and views for you on this thread
-
Oh I am not a stripper, I just meant strip down out of work clothes into something loose and non-irritating lol.
-
i think he was maybe just saying he likes strippers lol! hey, long time no see! i would try the syran wrap thing. its not so difficult to put it on your own shoulder, i did it.
-
I think the only way to be sure is to trot around naked the whole time, I'm sure your work colleagues wont mind, lol
-
Working around high school kids I don't think my co-workers would approve.
-
I dislike saran wrap for a couple reasons, one, your skin cant breath and it traps moisture and heat, right on up next to an open wound...kinda easy way to get an infection. Next, most people dont wet heal properly and thats pretty much all its good for. I would go with the winter break idea, and just run round the house w/o your bra, also, if you have bra's that fit well, and dont fall off your shoulder constantly, your really not rubbing that much against the tattoo, if you heal it properly you wont really have gnarly scabs to worry about, just normal light flakeys that wont be affected by bra's anyhow.

those teenage boys would

The victoria secret bras that criss cross in the back or loop around the neck would work.

I actually also have quite large D's and couldn't wear any kind of traditional bra when I had my back done. It was awful... pretty much the worst part. What I found that worked for me was this bra/tank top with wide, soft straps. It had an underwire built in so it gave me the support I needed, but didn't put any pressure on any places that would rub at scabs. It was so comfortable and the fabric was so supportive that I actually find myself still wearing it sometimes. I think I have this one:

I also tried the stick-on bra that snaps in the middle but has no straps... it worked okay if I wore it with a tank top, but otherwise not so much.
I didn't ever do any wrapping or anything, but usually did just pull on a tank top or t-shirt once I got home from work. The first few nights I put pillows around me to keep from rolling over onto my back. Not the greatest night's sleep but in 10+ sessions I only stuck to the bed once.

Thank you! It helps having advice from another well endowed woman!

You could go for a bra with neckstraps. Or wear a bikinitop. Or a support top, you know, like a top but extra tight and sucking in all the fat? That comes below my shoulders! I have a dubble D-cup, and I had to do that to lol! Beside if you do it in winter, your covered up pretty well and no-one will notice if you wear a good bra or not!
