After adding the owl and crow, I had the original heart tattoo done over again. It looks great, I told the artist to update it in any way he wanted...and he did make some changes. Obviously, it's there in tribute to my husband, Allen. The original heart tattoo had the banner where a name could appear, but at the time (1990) my wife didn't want her name tattooed onto the banner... guess that was intuitive of of her. Anyway, the name Allen was added around 1993. In the restoring of the heart, I also had the artist add a capital letter "L" to represent my ex-wife. I told him not to tell me where it was, so it's a hidden feature. Both my kids love this component of the tattoo.
