  Check it out, The first time I remember hearing that phrase was mid 90's Championship fight Andrew Golota vs. Riddick Bowe, Golota kept hitting Bowe below the belt, HBO commentator now classic comments: Golota's "Flirting with Disaster" refering to Golota's risk of being disqualified if he kept punching to the body. He was kicking Bowes ass bigtime & was well on his way to victory when he was disqualified in the 10th round for excessive low blows!!! Disaster did happen when a huge riot broke out in madison sq garden!!! Classic: "Flirting with disaster" Sorry, I'm a big boxing fan :)
