So i drew on myself again. I def want a snake tat thats colorful. I think i might have it on my back instead and make a back piece out of it. Give me ur opinion :p
I'm currently inkin' an asian dragon for my wife in about the same spot. Placement for both would work. Hers runs from 5 inches below the armpit, has a few bends, follows her natural curve, and the tail ends about mid-thigh. The dragons head is placed on her kidney area on her back. I'll dig out some pics for ya...
I say put the head on the front part of your shoulder and the neck over the top and then down the outside of your shoulder blade. The rest of the snake can coil down your side.

i think i would lower the top of the snake a bit maybe also change the curvature to make better shadow with ur rib cage

Id definately put it on your side where it is just have the tail sit higher and follow the shape down the curve of your hip to your back
