Cactuar from Final Fantasy freehand tattooed on a grapefruit! Have just been given a kit and would love to do what you do, maybe after many, many grapefruit! lol (ps DO want to be taught, and am also thinking of going back to evening classes for art)

Thanks for the tip. I can't help wondering if the tube wasn't tight enough for the needle size. Unfortunately, it was disposable and therefore long gone, so can't check, but when I did the fan, I know that it was definitely the right size and felt the outline was a lot easier to get cleaner.

Big and loooooong learning curve, but I don't mind

Pig ears will work well. I dont know how deep your running your outline, but careful with it. Deep IS NOT always better

I have heard of the pig skin before, did wonder about the grapefruit skin cos it is so lumpy. Thanks for the tip, we have a small butcher on the same street as my cake shop, I am sure they could do that for me.

    Thanks!!

if you go to your local buchers you can get hold of some pig skins - these will act more like human skin and you can practice more thingsand larger sizes and will get a better result/effect . Just don't forget to take pics of them to start your portfolio.
