more ink

In July I was able to get the back piece finshed ... finally! i took a month off, only going back in the shop for about 10 minutes for my guy to add my new grand daughters name after my daughter gave birth on July 26th.
This past Thursday I began the work on my right arm, a cover up of an older tat of my daughters name. The ink was so different back when i got that one, some 22 years ago, it wasnt looking as good as I knew it could, so i decided to place my daughters name on my left shoulder area and add the grand babies under it ... then for months it was "what can I do with this right arm" well thanks to Duncan my ink guy, we came up with a large branch of cherry blossoms ... from the top of my shoulder to 3-4 inches above my elbow ... what a colorful piece this is. I am still getting used to seeing all that color LOL but it looks great! i'll try to get a pic up later. next month brings work on the forerms, shading and possibly a few more japanese characters. as some point i will move over to begin working on the left arm ... more of a memorial, tribute arm. I'd like to add my dad in there too.
total tats now come to 13, the dragon on my back has come full circle, completely healed almost right off the bat, the skin now has taken on that normal appearance, not looking shinny. the low back tat, both forearms, the cherry blossoms on the right arm, my family names on my left, butterfly on my ass, peacock and a heart on my chest, black roses on my right hand and upper left thigh, flowers around my right wrist and a small mountain scape on the left ankle.
some people have ask when will you be done getting ink ...i tell them i'll be done when im finished :-) actually after my arms are done i have no plans to have anymore in the near future, nothing stricks my fancy at this point, and i usually wait a long time after i decid i want one and the time i actually get it done.
