got my first tattoo when i was 16, in some shithole tattoo parlor in chicago. the artist was some nasty old lady who reaked like pot, during the tattoo she was on the phone, smoking a cigarette, and talking to her friend who was sitting next to her. while i was getting the tattoo done i had the pleasure of staring at her overweight dying pittbull...who just so happened to be in the same room...shedding all over me. didn't get another tattoo till about 3 years later when i joined the navy, where i got really into the sailor jerry tattoo style, i figure why not, if the stiletto fits right? the chest piece was first... had the center of it done and then about 3 months later started working on it again, i like to think of it as a hybrid between oldschool and new school, i wanted the swallows to look different then everyone elses. basically so me the whole thing symbolizes my struggle through the navy, and conquering all the pain and anger and irritation that i just so happened to being upon myselfe when i joined. i got the queers and screeching weasel logos during a drunk night in japan, and the same story with the anchors, only in okinawa. got the cadillac emblum because my old man hates tattoos and i was trying to find something that he would dig, so i got that with his fathers name over it. it worked. got the old school sailor jerry ship on my right side because i always wanted one and moved to the other side and got the mermaid, i tweaked the mermaid to make it look a bit like my girl angeles. who is the love of my life, and is the only reason ive been able to keep my head up in my situation. so i gave the mermaid the same tattoos as her and tweaked the face a tiny bit. future tattoo's will consist of a compilation of old sailor tattoos on the left arm to finish off a half sleeve. and after that i guess we'll see.
