Pilgrimage in 2010! :D

[pil-gruh-mij] -aged, -ag·ing.
–noun
any long journey, esp. one undertaken as a quest or for a votive purpose, as to pay homage. So, me and my best friend Michael are in the process of organizing an epic road trip next year (April or May 2010). An excursion that will take us in a gigantic loop around the U.S. I plan on tattooing along the way to make cash with which to travel so I'll be setting up guest spots here and there. He's going to do psychic/tarot readings along the way as well so we'll be our own little gypsy caravan. Smile I have no doubt that this is going to be a rough trip. We're leaving (most likely) with limited funds and plan on sleeping where we can... in the car or campgrounds along the way. See... this is a journey of personal discovery. It's something I've always wanted to do. I think I've hit a point where I can and want to actually take that chance. I let things slip by saying someday... and I'm sick of waiting.
I'm not entirely sure on all the states yet and I'm sure our roadmap will change several times before we're ready to set out. States that we'll most likely be traveling through will be Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania. 0.0 That's nearly half of our 50 states!
As time goes on I'll keep updating... so if anyone wants a visit, let me know and I'll see if we can adjust our map to include you. And at some point I know we'll have to get back out there and do the other 26... though it may be hard to drive to Hawaii. ;)
I'm also interested if anyone has any suggestions for sights to see or places to stop and take note of along the way... recommendations of shops to look into for guest spots. We want to travel, but we want it to be leisurely and fun... staying at each place for at least a day or two. Longer if we like it. Of course we figure this trip will take us something like four months. Maybe longer, maybe less...
Moovin' right a-loooooong... :D

That has got to be a blast of a lifetime. Sounds very traditional and I'm sure will ensure many tales. Excellent!

And of course we're going to document the whole thing as we go... so yes, stories and photos will be shared. :)
